Feelings--Unleashed

I really donno how to express my feelings for you
Coz suddenly, somehow the words seem so few...

I know it has only been a few days since I know you
But I am sure what I feel for you is true...

I have never felt this way for anyone
For me you have been like the crimson hue of the rising sun...

You are there in every breath of mine,
Your very thought brings me a smile,
Brings my eyes a shine…

I feel you understand me well
You will alwaz be there beside me, without fail...

You will wipe away my tears
Help me fight all my fears...

Someone I can share my happiness with
A person who will know me from beneath...

Someone I can trust with a blind eye
There won’t be any place for what, when and why...

You are the person who has touched my soul
Someone I can feel even when all alone...

We may be apart by a thousand mile
But your very thought makes my soul pristine...

But at times my heart aches to meet you dear
Your absence becomes too hard to bear...

I wonder when this wait of mine will come to an end
When will we be together, my friend...

What destiny has in store for us is still uncertain
But I just know that you are that special person...

I wish we spend the rest of our life together
Be there for each other...
Forever and ever...

Jab We Met Again…

Since Valentine’s Day is round the corner, I thought of writing something on ‘Love’…

Well this time I am not going to say that this story is a work of fiction because it is about the feeling of love…and love is always a reality…

“Ananya, why are you feeling so nervous? It’s not the first time you are meeting Aritra…He has been your school friend…So what’s this nervousness all about?”
All these thoughts were lingering in Ananya’s mind as she was waiting for Aritra in Barista…

Ananya had known Aritra from the time she was a kid…They were childhood friends…They used to study together…play together…But then one fine morning everything changed between them…It’s been 9 long years but even now Ananya very clearly remembers the day…

Early morning Aritra had given a call to Ananya and asked her to meet at Barista…That very day Aritra was leaving for Delhi to pursue his higher studies… So this was supposed to be their last meeting…Ananya got a gift for Aritra as a token of their friendship…

They spent few hrs remembering the good old days…and then just before leaving Aritra started” Ananya, This is perhaps our last meeting…I am not sure whether I will meet you again or not…but before leaving there is something that I want you to know…Something I always wanted to tell you but never got the courage…But its like if I don’t tell this to you today I am going to regret it through out my life…”

“What is it? Aritra” asked a puzzled Ananya…She was totally clueless about what Aritra was going to tell her…They had been great friends and to her knowledge there was absolutely nothing that Aritra had ever hidden from her…so what was it that Aritra wanted to tell her but was not able to…

Aritra stood up, looked straight to her eyes and said “Ananya, you have always been more than a friend to me…From the time I understood love…I loved you…You are and always will be someone special to me…You might think that I am too young to understand what love is…But believe me there is no age to fall in love…and you will always be my first love…”

Ananya was totally shocked because it was the last thing that she had expected…She didn’t know what to say or how to react…

“Ananya, you need not say anything…(pause)…I will miss you.” Aritra smiled and before Ananya could say anything he left the place.

Ananya and Aritra never spoke to each other after that… They lost touch…After one year Ananya’s dad got transferred to some other place…Both Ananya and Aritra got busy with their respective lives…
Memories started fading…Time started flying…

Both of them fell in and out of love with different people…But as they say you never know…

Seven years passed…

Ananya was pursuing her Masters now…She had really changed since her childhood days…She was much more confident…She clearly knew what she wanted from life…She grew up to be a very smart and independent girl…

One fine day she was just browsing one of the social networking sites…and then suddenly her eyes stopped over a name…the name was Dr. Aritra Bhatacharya…
Is it the same Aritra…She wondered…and then after sometime…She sent a mail to this person…

“ Hello,
I am Ananya Dasgupta…I came across your profile in Facebook Actually I had a friend with the same name…So are you by any chance the same person…If yes, please reply back else ignore the mail…“

Days passed and she didn’t get a reply…Ananya too forgot about this mail…And then one fine morning she saw a mail from Dr.Aritra in her mail box…

So it was the same Aritra… Aritra replied back…
“Hey Ananya,
This world is indeed a very small place…I had never thought that I will ever get in touch with you…But seriously it feels great to findold friends…So how are you? How’s life? What are doing? I guess too many questions huh??
Well as far as I m concerned I am in Australia right now…pursuing my Masters after completing MBBS…Yeah, your friend is a Doc now…

Anyways do reply back…

Yours
Aritra…”

So that was it…A new chapter of Ananya’s and Aritra’s friendship started…Two years have passed since then…Ananya is now working in a reputed Consultancy firm and Aritra has completed his Masters and returned to India…And today after 9 long years these two people
are meeting each other at the same coffee shop where they parted…

“What will you have Ananya?” asked Aritra
“One cappuccino for me”
“Make it two”

The entire evening these two people talked about old days…They never felt that they were meeting each other after 9 years…They shared stories of the years when they were not together...They had lots of catching to do…

And then just before leaving Aritra again started “Ananya, I have to leave now…This time I won’t say that this is the last time we are meeting…Because there are many more meetings that are bound to happen…It felt great to meet you after so many years…”

Ananya replied “Thank God, this time you didn’t say anything insensible...like the way you did last time”

Aritra started laughing and said what if I tell you the same thing again…

Ananya looked straight into Aritra’s eyes and said “This time if you again say something like that...then for heaven’s sake listen to my reply before leaving…”

“And what that reply will be?” asked Aritra

Ananya didn’t say anything…went straight to him and hugged him…“From the time I have understood love…even I have loved you…”

Destiny, as they say has its own say…If two people are meant to be together…they will be…no matter what…Time…distance…nothing can come between them….

But I will like to say one thing that whether love succeeds or not is a different thing...What matters is that you loved someone dearly…loved above yourself…That feeling itself is precious…

“Don’t cry because it is over, Smile because it happened…”

“Happy Valentine’s Day!!!”

I don’t want to be another Raghu…

Note: This is purely a work of fiction but I m sure that most of us will identify ourselves with Raghu…

We all were waiting for this…The moment had finally arrived…The moment of glory and triumph…It was time for the “Employee of the Year Award”…

This award is the most prestigious award in our company...It’s given to the employee whose contribution towards the company cannot be matched by others…Someone who has set an example for others to follow…Nothing can get bigger than this…Each and every employee of this company dreams of winning this award…But this year there was a clear winner and that was Mr.Raghuveer Pandey…

Raghu as he is fondly called by us joined this company as a fresher…From day one everybody realized that he had something different from others…His dedication and sincerity to his work was exemplary…Apart from his professional capabilities, the best thing in him was his ability to adjust. Even though he belonged to a small town in Bihar, he very quickly adjusted to the fast life of Mumbai…Today when I see him; I find him more Mumbaiya then me…

And the “Employee of the Year Award” goes to Mr.Raghuveer Pandey…The entire auditorium burst into claps…Raghu went up to the stage and received the award…As soon as he came down everyone started congratulating him...Everyone from the top management to the security people…It was his moment…Nobody could take it from him…

When the remaining public subsided I went straight up to him and hugged him…Raghu smiled and said “I needed it buddy”. Strangely Raghu was not that happy as he should have been…I was quite surprised because winning this award was Raghu’s dream. I very clearly remember, last year Raghu said “You just see buddy, next year I m going to win it.” He had worked very hard for this…worked day and night…and today when all his hard work is paying off…he is not happy…

“What’s the matter dude? What is it that’s bothering you?”
Raghu replied “Dude, I know this award was something I had been waiting for since a long time…Today is the happiest moment of my life but unfortunately I don’t have anyone to share this happiness with…I m sure all these people who are congratulating me, as soon as they go out of the hall will say “I know Raghu is good but it was really too early for the management to give him such a prestigious award. Everyone here is wearing a mask…and in my quest for success I have left behind those people who genuinely cared for me…This moment of glory has no meaning without them…Unfortunately I have moved so ahead that I cannot turn back to them now…”

I don’t know why Raghu said all this…But each and every word he uttered was right…Most of us run after something or the other…In our search we forget about everything else…We forget our near and dear ones…But when we achieve our goals we need someone to share the happiness with…At that time we find ourselves surrounded by hypocrites…Even after winning we feel as biggest losers…Someone has rightly said the top is very lonely…

That night when I returned from the Annual Bash, I gave a call to all my friends and said “I miss you guys…” I didn’t want to be another Raghu…

If Only...

This is entirely a work of fiction...Ressemblance to anyone is purely coincidental...

Na hain ye pana….

Papiya was waiting for the arrival of the flight from NY, when she suddenly heard someone playing this song... At first she couldn’t believe her ears...This used to be her favorite song …and it had been so long that she had last heard it…She closed her eyes and started humming the song...She felt as if she had gone back to those good old days in Delhi…Suddenly she got reminded of her care free college days, her friends and of course “Him”.

Rohan used to be her bestest (if there is some word like that) friend. She had never ever imagined that their chance meeting will turn out to something like that…Something so pure…so divine…She used to share everything with him…Her happiness, her sorrows, her fears, her deepest secrets…The only thing that she was never able to tell him was how much she loved him…What he meant to her…If only she could have…

But she always knew that he treated her only as a friend…nothing more…” Even today she very clearly remembers the day when Rohan told her that he loves her and the very next moment, he started laughing…He said ” I scared you right…Common Papiya , I was just kidding…Just look at yourself…Oh God…” Papiya simply smiled back… What else she could have done…

If only he would have loved me even for a second, I would have been the happiest person on earth” she used to tell herself…Even after so many years she always felt the pain, felt a hollowness inside her…but she was happy that it was he who gave her the pain… There was a time when there hardly used to be a day when she didn’t meet him…and now it has been some 4 years when she last heard anything of him…Rohan was lost in the sand dunes of time… but still there somewhere inside her…
There was a time when she used to think of him day and night …She even does but unconsciously…just like now…

“The flight from NY has been delayed by 30 mins”. Hearing the announcement, Papiya got startled. She opened her eyes, had a look at her watch and thought “ Common Papiya, Its been 4 years...Why do you still regret loosing a person who was never meant to be yours…You have moved on with your life...then why after so many years think about him….”

”Are you an Indian?” asked a lady in white shirt and a denim skirt.
Her very appearance made it clear that she was an Indian. Papiya somehow gathered her thoughts and replied “Yeah, I m Papiya …Papiya Bhattacharya”
“I am Tanya Gupte”
“So Tanya, are you from London?” said Papiya still trying to come out of her thoughts…
“No I am located in Mumbai, was here for a business meeting. What about you?”
“Well I m from Delhi, but had been staying here for the last 3 years.”
“ok...”
“So you were the person who was playing that Hindi song…U know it’s very rare that you get to hear Hindi songs in Heathrow Airport“
“I know…Actually one of my colleague had given me this CD…He loves this song...”
“Oh, really! Even I love this song… but it has been a long time since I last heard it…Hearing this song I just got reminded of my old days…u know…”

Blah…blah…blah…

In some 15-20 mins Tanya and Papiya had became good friends…But this happens with all the Indians staying abroad…

Again there was an announcement. “The flight from NY is about to land”
Papaya looked at Tanya and said “Now I have to go…You do one thing…give your numb…I will give you a call sometime”
“Yeah, sure.”
Both Papiya and Tanya exchanged numbers. She shook hands with Tanya and started moving in the opposite direction.
“Papiya, One minute…You love this song right…You can take this CD…”
“But Tanya, It was given to you by someone…”
“Its ok...Papiya…take it…please”

Papiya took the CD and headed towards gate no.10 and gave a big hug to Vikrant, her fiancĂ©…She had came to the airport to receive him… On their way back she started telling Vikrant about Tanya…She took out the CD from the CD case and placed the CD in the CD player. As she was placing the case back, she saw something written on it. She couldn’t believe her eyes…All through her life she was running after something that had always been hers…But now she realized…she has lost it…

Written on the CD case were the words “If only she would have loved me even for a second, I would have been the happiest person on earth--- signed Rohan Kapoor”

The lyrics were echoing in her ears…

Na hain ye pana….
Na khona hi hain….
Tera na hona jane…
Kyun hona hi hain….
Tumse hi din hota hain…
Surmayee shaam hoti hain…
Tumse hi…tumse hi…
Har ghari saans aati hain…
Zindagi kehlati hain…
Tumse hi…Tumse hi…

You…(For my parents)

You are our strength, You are our weakness,
You are our closest friend…

You are the person who inspired us to reach great heights,
Prepared us for every fight…

You have been our greatest admirer...
Our biggest confider…
And of course our advisor…

You scolded us when we were wrong,
You are the person who made us so strong...

You have given us our happiest moments,
Always reminded us of our commitments...

You have always been there when we needed you,
We are what we are today only because of you...

You have always given us the best,
And remained satisfied with the rest...

Even if we try giving the world to you,
It will be nothing as compared to what has been done by you...

I know these words cannot express what we feel for you,
I just want to end this by thanking God for giving us YOU...
Do we still need to say that we love you...

A New Dream …

As I gaze out of the window into the endless horizon,
I feel like re living the time that I know has already frozen…

This year has been special for me in so many ways
It brought shades to my life that was so naive

Shades of friendship, trust, responsibility all came together
And changed the course of my life forever

This year has seen many stories of success and failure
But each one of them has been an enlightening affair

I know this year, like the rest will fade away in the sand dunes of time
But will always shimmer in the memory lanes of mine

Every beginning has an end and every end a beginning
I just hope next year be as invigorating

Let the new year begin with a new dream
With hopes, aspirations and a little grin

I wish the best for each and everyone
May your life be filled with eternal happiness and fun

As I gaze out of the window into the endless horizon,
I have already started making plans for the time that has not yet frozen…
